ALDERNEY
Passenger Travel between Poole and Alderney

​TRUE BLUE is available for passenger transportation between Poole and Alderney.
As well as scheduled trips during the busier months,  True Blue can also be booked at short notice at any time, subject to availability and weather. She offers an alternative means of travel with generous pet and luggage allowances, when air travel may not be possible. 
The crossing between Poole and Alderney usually takes just 3 hours cruising at an average speed of 21 knots.

Our Quickest crossing has been just 2h 41m
TRUE BLUE is a licensed vessel for the carriage of Fare Paying Passengers and her skipper, Steve Porter is a qualified Yachtmaster Offshore, RYA Instructor and a locally qualified boatman to Alderney.
Important Information COVID-19
(Currently, April 22, there are no Covid restrictions)

Passengers should adhere to the following
You should not attempt to board TRUE BLUE if you have any of the following symptoms,
Fever (chills/can't get warm/high temperature) muscle ache, fatigue, exhaustion, headache, sinus pain, pain around the eyes, loss of smell/taste, sore throat, shortness of breath or tightness of the chest.
​Your temperature may be taken prior to boarding.

Autumn and Winter trips. 
Typically the weather becomes more challenging at this time of the 
year, so please only book a crossing on True Blue if you are flexible within a few days of your travel date.  During the months October to March, passenger numbers may be reduced to just seven per crossing. This is to enable all on board to have seating within the main cabin. 
RATES (Sadly a doubling of fuel prices have meant prices have had to go up. Hopefully only temporary)
Scheduled Trips, Individual, One way.  £130. (This rate is per person, regardless of age)
Outright charter £1,200 per crossing, for up to ten passengers.
We can carry up to 10 passengers, plus luggage and pets. Well behaved accompanied pets are FOC.
​(Passenger numbers may be reduced to just 7 during the months Oct to March)
TIMINGS
Timings are confirmed the day before travel once an accurate weather forecast has been studied. We aim to cross the channel when sea conditions are at their best.  As a general guide, assuming no weather issues, crossings from Poole depart between 8am and 10am.  Crossings from Alderney usually depart early afternoon.
Passengers should aim to be ready  to board TRUE BLUE at least fifteen minutes before departure.

The Pick-up point at Poole is the Eastern End of Poole Quay, opposite The Quay Thistle Hotel.

LUGGAGE

Within reason, there are no restrictions on luggage,  If possible, please bring holdalls rather than suitcases.
Please seek advice from the skipper prior to your travel day if you have lots of luggage or unusually large items.

PETS
Well behaved accompanied pets are Free of Charge.  Unaccompanied dogs are £100.
Dogs are welcome in the saloon but are not allowed in the overnight cabins.

For passengers travelling to Alderney, the following details for each passenger must be provided.
1. Full Name
2. Contact Phone Number
3. Contact Address in Alderney
4. Provide a Reason for Travel.
​5. Confirm that you are not suffering from any Covid-19 symptoms, that you have not had recent contact with anyone suffering from Covid-19 or awaiting a Covid-19 test result.
6. Date and Place of birth
7. Nationality
​For Passengers travelling from Alderney to Poole. all that is currently required are full names.


PAYMENTS
A deposit of 50% is required at the time of booking. The balance is required by the date of travel, usually paid once the weather decision has been made for the trip.  Full payment before departure is a condition of travel.

Please enter your name and date of travel as the reference.  For example, "Bloggs17/06"
