Nor could we have expected the weather to be so kind.  These two factors saw our catch rate increase and our total Bluefin to the boat for 2021 reached 147.  Not bad when you consider that we went to Falmouth with the goal of tagging 20 fish.

Its worth noting that the photos do not do the fish justice. In most pictures, the Bluefin is a lot further away than the angler, making it look smaller than what it really was.
]]><![CDATA[Update 23rd October]]>Sat, 23 Oct 2021 09:47:04 GMThttps://www.truebluecharters.co.uk/bluefinadventure21/update-23rd-octoberWell, two months into our Bluefin Tuna season, it is hard to imagine things could be any better.  We went to Falmouth in the hope of catching 20 Bluefin, but so far, we have managed 80.  This really is World Class fishing.  To put it into perspective, in recent years, Team True Blue have done 14 charters abroad to target Bluefin Tuna.  Whilst we fished on great boats with good skippers, those 14 days only resulted 3 Bluefin being caught.  In Falmouth we are averaging 2 a day.  We have had the occasional fish-less day, but most days we are seeing Bluefin being caught.  Further more, in terms of quantity, the numbers of Bluefin in the area seems to be increasing.  Our license to catch, tag and then release Bluefin expires on the 14th November.  We are up against the weather now but hopefully there will be enough good weather days for us to add to our tally.  We only need another 4 to reach the milestone of 100 Bluefin Tuna to TRUE BUE over two years.
]]><![CDATA[New Outriggers Fitted]]>Thu, 19 Aug 2021 04:39:54 GMThttps://www.truebluecharters.co.uk/bluefinadventure21/new-blogHaving completed our last Alderney passenger run of the summer, True Blue is being prepared to deploy to Falmouth on the 21st August to catch, tag and release Atlantic Bluefin Tuna.  This blog will be updated regularly with news from our adventure.  We hope to match, or even improve on our success of 2020.
